Welcome

to the Ki Aikido School

We practice the Japanese martial art of Aikido with focus on the coordination of mind and body, a style developed by Koichi Tohei Sensei.

What is

Aikido

Aikido is based on avoiding the collision of opposing forces. Flowing and dynamic movements respond to an acting force or energy (Ki) by leading and redirecting it. This way the opponent will lose the balance and the situation can be brought under control by applying throwing or immobilisation techniques.

Ki Aikido

in daily life

Aikido is more than just a method of dealing with conflict. It's a creative mind and body discipline. We learn calmness, relaxation, awareness and at the same time we discover new perceptions and perspectives. The techniques themselves are tools for a better understanding. The real achievement is the victory over ourselves.
